About Us
Vietnam is rich with diverse people, cultures, and cuisines. Beginning circa 1000 B.C.E., Mongols from the north brought cattle to the region. This protein source became a staple of the Vietnamese diet, leading to classic dishes like PHO BO (Beef Noodle Soup) and BO BAY MON (Beef Seven Ways). From circa 300 B.C.E. the Chinese cooking influences began to take hold. The Chinese brought new cooking and dining techniques, such as stir-fry and the use of chopsticks. From neighboring countries Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand ingredients like the Cambodian-style egg noodle, exotic spices, spicy chilies, and coconut milk were introduced. The French colonized the region from 1858 to 1954, providing a new name – INDOCHINE - and a new influence. The French culinary influence on Vietnamese cuisine was profound. It introduce more luxurious food like pâté, butter, custards and cakes, plus simple pleasures like baguettes, milk, and coffee with cream. CO’M Dunwoody is a family-owned and operated that incorporates all these styles. We call it “Vietnamese-French Grill Fusion”. It brings together the long history and variety of many Vietnamese cooking styles, from classic and traditional Vietnamese dishes to more elegant French influenced meals. Our family has resided in the Atlanta area for more than 30 years, and we are proud to be a part of the Dunwoody Neighborhood. We operate CO’M Dunwoody with the same passion for fine food that our grandparents had. Our mission is to provide Atlanta with fine and elegant dishes that combine traditional Vietnamese flavors with the additional touch of French delight. As our grandparents did, we prepare all of our dishes with the fresh ingredients so you can enjoy the authentic flavor of this fine cuisine. Here at Co’m, we work hard to ensure the tradition is preserved and the quality is maintained. Please come in, experience it yourself, and enjoy.
